Bible Reading Plans….Do you have yours yet?
It’s that time again!! Time for us to gear up and choose our “plan of action”.
***insert knuckle cracking***
I just love the New Year. I actually have HOPE that I might be able do it this time….
Now let me make a confession to you. (Because you are my wonderful friend who loves me and I know you won’t look down on me, right?) :)
I’ve never actually finished a Bible Reading Plan.
**(Eeek….*hands over face hiding from the embarrassment* That sounded so much worse than I thought it would!)
Now, don’t get me wrong, I HAVE actually read the Bible the whole way through (whew, that makes me feel a LITTLE better)…..but just by steadily, daily, and at my own pace, reading through it. Chapter by chapter, book by book.
And in the end, what really matters is….THE WORD. We need it.
The topic of most of our church emails yesterday was this very thing. I am always so encouraged by my brothers and sisters!
I hope you are encouraged as well…..here are their suggestions on the topic of Daily Bible Reading Plans……
Brother Scott gives these suggestions:
“Here are some good online options”

Or another good one…

Our brother Will gives this word:
Our sister June encourages us this way:
And from our brother Terry:
Our brother Nate gives a shout out to this one:
” I found this one particularly appealing because it is on a cycle where after three days on the plan, you are given an “off” day, which makes this one less rigid, and allows some flexibility. Here’s the Journey’s “Engage Scripture” Page, which gives more information:”

Here are some words from our brother Aaron:
Of course I always recommend Crossway’s website which has many different reading plan options. Visit Crossway’s reading plan website to subscribe for free.

Here’s one I found by just doing a “search”:
(for us, touchy, feely, like to check boxes, type)
Jessica has a great checkbox system for FREE DOWNLOAD HERE….
It’s designed to fit right inside your Bible!
Here’s one that looks interesting…
Professor Grant Horner’s Bible Reading System
You read ten chapters per day (wow), and it is intended for you to really “get to know” your Bible. There are 10,000 strong on the Facebook page who will vouch for it! Find the facebook page HERE….
You print off these handy-dandy bookmarks HERE, place them in your Bible, and read a chapter from each bookmark per day. It’s intended to get you really familiar with your Bible, and give you a huge dose each day. (It’s estimated to take 40 min-1 hour per day, so not for the faint of heart…. but people say that after you’ve been doing it about a month, you’ll wonder how you ever did without such a healthy diet of scripture each day!)
and after I wrote that a message came through from our brother Bob:
“This one I am using now and it is the GREATEST” (see above)
http://www.scribd.com/doc/12349985/Professor-Grant-Horners-Bible-Reading-System (Click to see the whole plan with instructions)
(If Bob says it’s the GREATEST, that’s good enough for me!)
Do YOU have any good ones?
Loving the Lord and loving each other as we study the TRUTH together!!

I love it. Good job
I did a one year read through in 16 months.
What a blessing of links… thank you!
JOYfully in Him,
Kelli
Excellent! I was looking for some charts like this! I was also wondering exactly how many chapters are in the New Testament, because my goal is to read it this year. Now I don’t have to add them all up
